Sound Clips includes a very useful utility called SoundClipper‚Ñ¢.
This handy tool allows you to play sounds, convert sounds from one format to another and record new sounds.
Playing Sounds
Playing sounds in SoundClipper is very easy. Just open a sound file, select the sound you want and click Play. SoundClipper plays the sound for you.
Converting Sound Formats
SoundClipper allows you to convert any sound format to another format. Therefore you can:
• Convert “snd1” sounds to HyperCard “snd2” or to SoundEdit sounds.
• Convert HyperCard “snd2” sounds to “snd1” or to SoundEdit sounds.
• Convert SoundEdit sounds to HyperCard “snd2” or to “snd1” sounds.
To convert a sound from one format to another:
• Open the sound file you want to convert. Play the sound to check you opened the correct sound.
• Choose Save As (another format) from the File menu. SoundClipper only enables the options to convert the file into a different format.
• Type a new name for the converted file and save the file in your hard disk.
Recording Sounds
If you want to record new sounds with SoundClipper, just select the sound quality that you want to use to record the file from the Record to File menu. Apple’s standard Record New Sound dialog appears. Record a sound and save it with a new name. Remember that you do need an input device like Apple’s Microphone to record sounds.
